Julie LaFontaine – Designer Julie Lafontaine Interior Designer / Project Manager For the love of design Having graduated in Interior Design in her early twenties, Julie began her career in the design world as a freelance designer before joining the Clairoux team in 2006. Her freelance experience had allowed her to take part in many stimulating projects and to develop an acute attention to detail. There is no doubt this seasoned designer has helped shape the company’s DNA. Her multidisciplinary skill set makes her a valuable resource for her colleagues. Julie is like the conductor in the Clairoux team. Her responsibilities vary from project design to staff management. When you place your trust in our interior design firm, there’s a very good chance your project will fall in the hands of Julie at one time or another. A strategic and creative management approach Julie holds some of the most important responsibilities in the team. These include performing project oversight and team coordination. Also, she makes sure the workload is well distributed among team members while analyzing individual performances. She is also in charge of timelines and project delivery dates. Moreover, Julie conducts strategic planning for the projects, and designs the business strategy in collaboration with our Lead Interior Designer, Frédric Clairoux. Demonstrating great versatility, she is actively involved in our Prêt à vivre experience as well as our real estate, commercial and residential design projects. Her passion: to design and analyze spaces featuring many limitations Julie is the kind of designer who loves creative problem-solving. Throughout her career, she has successfully faced significant challenges. Her open-mindedness allows her to react swiftly when issues arise. She always says that there are no problems, only solutions: you simply have to look at the issue from all possible angles. Within the team, she is the go-to problem solver. Her extensive experience in interior design has allowed her to develop confidence and tackle even her most venturous ideas. For Julie, design has a practical function With her Cartesian and creative spirit, she is passionate about improving living spaces. According to her, aesthetics must be considered with functionality and space use top of mind. During her short dip in the restaurant industry, Julie was able to observe the movement of individuals within various spaces and analyze strategic space use. She also developed solid expertise in choosing materials to promote optimal performance. These complementary skills translate into clever and well-rounded interior design renderings. Her guiding principle: backing her proposals with facts Julie’s rational inclination has deepened her appreciation for the technical side of design.
