Espace 3C is an commercial design project completed for the Superior Technology School in Montreal. It is FX Studio’s second commercial design project developed with a vision of co-working, collaborative spaces and meeting places conceived differently. Espace 3C sought to create a place to promote 3 elements: knowledge, collaboration, and creation.
The interior design of a collaborative, inspiring workplace
At FX Studio Design, we thrive on ambitious projects and we wanted to bring our unique expertise into the project of the collaborative workspace commercial design for Espace 3C.
The project consisted of creating a place for discussion and sharing in unused space in a library to promote interactions between members, thereby making the library a place that fosters creativity, discussions, and knowledge sharing.
Our team had already worked on this theme during the 6cent1 co-working space project, so we had a general idea of the indispensable features of a collaborative, shared, and stimulating workspace.
We worked assiduously with Espace-Temps, the project sponsor, to create an inspiring space for visitors.
Our primary challenge was obvious: How do you foster knowledge sharing in a study space that is meant to be “quiet”?
To meet these needs, we transformed the conventional study rooms into a completely collaborative commercial workspace. The idea was to create a free space that was much more conducive to members’ creativity. We decided to use the walls as work tools by allowing users to write on them. We simply used whiteboards for this purpose. Next, we added modern modular furniture to make managing interior spaces more versatile and adjustable to all types of meetings, conferences, possessions, or brainstorming sessions.
