The residential interior design projects of the Clairoux firm have greatly evolved over time and are defined today by sleek, contemporary interior designs. Frédric Clairoux acquired his experience in New England, starting in design with a rather classic style that is typical of the English-speaking region.
The knowledge and expertise gained over these years of experience have enabled him to learn different work methods and apply distinct styles based on his clientele’s requests and needs.
For this residential interior design located in Westmount, the renovation of a bathroom perfectly met the needs of the customer.
Interior space as an extension of your personality
The studio’s first step was to understand our clients’ needs, analyze their lifestyle, and observe their personal sense of style so that we could apply all this knowledge to shaping their immediate environment and creating a space in tune with their lives. For this renovation, we had the chance to work with our long-standing partner Labarre Construction, with whom we have completed, among others, the Kfoury Residence project.
For this project, the studio greatly enjoyed implementing the client’s desires. In this mid-19th-century house located in the Westmount residential area, the project consisted in renovating two bathrooms, one of which was in the master suite.
The client’s first request was to install a freestanding bathtub. Although we attempted to obtain a cast-iron bathtub, the general contractor suggested a product in acrylic. The result was nevertheless very satisfactory.
We added wallpaper and paneling to renew the rest of the house’s architecture. At Clairoux, we love to design interior residential spaces that take the immediate environment and the history of the building into account. Therefore, we added some classics to strengthen the interior design:
- A counter in Bianco Carrera marble
- A perfume cabinet
- A wall sconce from Restoration Hardware with a silk lampshade
During this bathroom renovation, Frédric Clairoux reconnected with the classical influences from his early career. The studio was able to play with different trends and materials to create a contemporary yet classic interior design with influences from the English-speaking world that are typical of the Westmount neighborhood.
